Santiago de Compostela is located in a region of north western Spain called Galicia (red box in the image).
Santiago has an international airport (12 km. far from the city) with daily
flights to several Spanish cities:
Barcelona
Bilbao
Las Palmas
Madrid
Palma
Sevilla
Tenerife Sur
Valencia
And European destinations including:
Amsterdam
Brussels
Geneva
London Heathrow
Paris Orly
Zurich
For those attendants coming from Spain, rail and road links are also an option. Santiago has very
good road connections with Madrid through A6 (Santiago-Madrid: 5 h. 30 m. by highway) and also with
A Coruña, Pontevedra and Vigo through A9. There are also rail links connecting Santiago with
most destinations in the Iberian Peninsula. Nevertheless, we only recommend train for short distances
(attendants coming from Galicia).
